The 2nd Olympic Yacht Show turned into a record breaking event. The premium in-water show that ended last Monday at Olympic Marine, in Lavrio, set a record number of visitors while, compared to last year, the number of exhibitors and boats was greater. The upward trend shows the interest that exists in Greece for quality marine tourism and proves that our country has top professionals in the field of yachting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd Olympic Yacht Show opened on October 7th and ended on 10\/10. From the first day the interest of the public was great with the number of visitors reaching 20,000 this year. During the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to admire unique creations of Greek shipyards, premiere boats, which were presented for the first time at the Greek Show, and to talk with leading professionals of an industry that significantly strengthens the Greek economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening ceremony, the head of the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Yacht Show, Gerasimos Gerolimatos, addressed a warm greeting to his distinguished guests, saying among other things: “The Olympic Yacht Show is an exhibition that showcases the multi-dimensional yachting market in Greece and abroad and brings together all the professionals of this great sector of the economy. Our goal is for Greek companies and Greek boats to have their own Show, in their homeland, and to be a pole of attraction for foreign buyers and one of the reasons for visiting our exhibition.” Afterwards, he gave the floor to the owner of Olympic Marine, George Prokopiou, who set the goal of Greek yachting becoming the first in the world. “There is no competition between us, there is cooperation. We’ll make a promise now, it won’t be a wish. For Greek yachting to become first in the world, as is Greek shipping”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An international event<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The event was an international meeting of people active in the multidimensional yachting market, who had the opportunity to exchange ideas for the development of quality marine tourism, which highlights our country at a global level. The great interest and coverage of the show by international media proved for one more year that the Olympic Yacht Show, as an institution, now deserves a place among the corresponding leading events in Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day found the organizers already starting their preparations for the 3rd Olympic Yacht Show. The goal of all is to be a fruitful platform for the promotion of the sector, a powerful tool for the quality upgrade of the tourism product, a space for further fermentation between professionals and therefore, a think tank that will not follow trends but will create them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
